Both shift keys on my old laptop aren't working properly. When I hit the right shift key, it activates the help menu for whatever application/window I have open and types "2/" if I've got a text program running. For my left shift key, it activates the search/find function and types "." a period.
It's an Acer Aspire 1350, a few years old but otherwise working just fine. Running XP. I tried updating and rolling back drivers, which didn't work. Tried messing with my regional language settings in control panel to no avail. I even opened it up and blasted it with duster and attempted to make sure the connections were sound.
I don't know if this is a hardware or software problem, but it's driving me nuts. You don't realize how much you use that key until it's gone. Any help appreciated.
