Hi! My problem is I have a new comp and a fairly old printer, JX-9230. When I tried to load the old drivers... well you can imagine the rest. If any of you know where I can find drivers for Sharp JX-9230 for windows XP Pro I would be very happy.
Maybe even buy you a cold beer, thanx a lot in advance!

Unfortunately I do not know where we can get one, I am looking myself. I did contact Sharp when W2K came out for this driver and the response from SHARP was "WE WILL NOT WRITE A W2K DRIVER FOR THIS PRINTER" I have recontacted SHARP and asked for the W2K and XP Pro Drivers and I'm waiting for a response, dollars to donuts I'll get the same response back from them. I think everyone wanting these drivers should contact them to get the ball rolling, come on this printer is only 4 years old! You can get HP drivers for almost every printer made. Shame Shame SHARP. If Sharp doesn't pull through I'll be rethinking any future SHARP Purchases.

How do we bring Sharp to reply on this! I am sitting as many people ower the world with a fairly new JX-9230 and cannot get it runing under XP. Terrible servis Sharp! You got to sharp your custome focus!

Hi there,
the best thing on this sharp product is, that even standard driver (text only) do not work. So I looked up my oldest star LC printer (produced in 1986) and it PRINTED!!! Sensitional :-) But it does not realy solve our problem with sharp. I contacted sharp as well and they gave me the same friendly answer as TJ.
The question is how to concentrate the whole anger of any 9230 owner and put it on to Sharp, so they will write an Xp/2000 driver (althoug i think they never will) :-(

Ok, I see I'm not the only one with this problem. I also have a 9230 and no idea, how to get it running. I will write Sharp immediately!!! If anyone gets any driver, please contact me! Thank you very much,
greetz, ANDRE :-)

Here is an update,
I contacted SHARP once again, first they forwarded me information to get the drivers from a SHARP Support site.....well the newest drivers were made in 1994, so very unlikely they wrote W2K and WXP drivers in '94 right, that's right Win3.1 and Win95 drivers...thanks SHARP for reading my message and ensuring you had they drivers before sending me this garbage information. So I write back and here is the response they gave me "Thank you for contacting Sharp Electronics Corporation.
Unfortunately there are no driver updates for this printer." NO... THANK YOU SHARP!So I wrote another reply to SHARP here is a piece of it "Surely the cost to write a couple of drivers for your product would be value enough to keep your customers happy and continuing to see SHARP as a valuable and worthly product to purchase in the future, what does SHARP think?"
I'll keep you all posted as to what comes about.
I ask you all again, keep on these guys the more people write the better chance we have in getting use out of our printers.
Take care,
TJ

Hi
My printer no have driver Sharp JX-9230 and cannot get it runing under XP.
Can you help me geive a driver to me
Thak you

Sharp has given me the same reply for a couple of e-mails. There is no doubt this is very poor service and for those reading this - I have almost given up on the hope of them making a driver for win XP. Damn shame.
Sharp support says it is like this with all printers, scanners etc, but that is a load of crap. HP printers seem to stand above all others when it comes to customer support and I will put down money on a HP printer next month. For those of you caught up with Sharp, keep complaining, maybe they will write a driver.
So if any of you get further info please post it here, I will check in a week or so hehe.
Cheers, feel free to mail :)

I too am having difficulty with XP and my Sharp 9230 printer and have no luck with drivers. Has anyone tried a NT driver to see if that works.

I also have the same problem with the SHARP JX-9230. Sharp is responsible for updating their drivers and there must be a way to make Sharp either making new drivers or cover the expenses for a new printer... but the best way to make Sharp pay is to make alot of negative advertizing on the internet...

I need winxp drivers for my sharp JX-9230...
And as I have read all messages above i unlikely will find anything...if someone find drivers for sharp JX-9230 pls email me at robin208@everyday.com... if I find anything i will give all of you the url...

Here's another update!
- No response now from Sharp since Jan 15,2001 after I have forwarded TWO additional notes indicating that I have not heard back from them.
- Called Sharp USA today, bottom line to them it is a 5 year old printer and they DON'T CARE, they only support Win95,98,ME,NT 3.51 & 4.0 sp1, nothing else and will not support Windows 2000 or XP.
I was basically given the phone number to Sharp Canada 1-905-568-7140 and the address to SharpUSA 1301 Naperville Drive, Romeoville Ill, 60446, if I wanted to persuse this further with Sharp.
The bottomline at this point is as I said above, SHARP DOES NOT CARE they do not support this printer it has been out of production for 5 years now, they have said that there is no indication that new drivers will be made for this or any JX-9xxx printer.
If there is no change in the next short while, I will be joining David(above) and purchasing a HEWLETT PACKARD printer because I know I'll get more than 4 years out of it, and you can bet that SHARP will never get a penny of mine again
........alittle support goes along way!

Please send me a note if/when some of you find these drivers for winxp.
I'll wait about a month before I buy a new printer.Damn DAMN Damn!
Regards AG.

Hi, I'm locking also for the Sharp JX 9230 driver for W2K. Pleas send me a mail, if a new driver came out. Bye the way, I never will buy a Sharp driver again!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sebastian form Switzerland

I had the same problem too. Because of their bad service, I will never buy Sharp printer and others Sharp products such as Notebook, PDA again. I also told my friends don't consider to buy Sharp products if they don't want to have the same problem as me.
