Is there a way to override the Windows XP restriction on sharing system folders? I run a 3-computer home network, and i want to share the Windows, Program Files and other system folders, even though the option is not apparently allowed by Windows XP.

Map a network drive on your machines that want access to the server by right-clicking on my computer. Or better yet get X-Windows (Linux) and export entire desktops running on other machines :-)

Believe it or not, I had already made the technological leap of mapping the drives. Despite that, I find that I can share all folders except the "Windows", "Program Files" and "Documents and Settings" folders. I want to share these folders, even though Microsoft thinks it's a bad idea. I was thinking maybe it should be my choice.
