Be sure both computers are using the same workgroup and that file and print sharing is enabled. Merely setting up a network does not start sharing. Assume you have right clicked on the folders you want to share and told them to share.

To map Go to Windows Explorer and select "Tools" then "Map Network Drive" Select a drive letter does not matter..let's say G:
In Folder: \\nameof your other computer\ c$
you will now be avble to see files on your other PC.

Salgolf, i have already done everything you said. Both computers are on the same Workgroup ("MSHOME") ...
mapping does not work. one machine wont let me get into MSHOME window , saying it isnt accessible or it mitght have no permission bla bla bla , and the other one shows both computers (which means it detects a connection between these two) but wont let me get into the other one (with same message saying "//COMPNAME is not accessible, or might have no permission" ...
Thanx for your replies so far .. any more ideas ?
