Need help with not so simple file sharing with win xp pro.
I have a folder on my desktop that I'm trying to share so that I can see them from my laptops. I want it so that people trying to access a shared folder has to log on to do so. I dont have a domain so i'm using a workgroup. I'm trying to give the users on my laptop permission to see the folders but windows will only show me the local users and not the users on my laptop.
HELP ME!!!!!
Money not an issue? Where do you live and when are you not home? I'm not gonna rob you, I'm just gonna steal some stuff

Can you see the share when it has simple file sharing enabled? The first thing that comes to mind is a firewall.

Without a Domain Controller, you will have to create the same users in your local machine with the same passwords as on the laptop. Then you can set permissions.
