I have got a shared printer on XP Pro and I can't get
my 98SE pc's to print to it. The printer is shared and
I also gave the two 98SE pc's access by going to the
properties on the shared printer, clicking the security
tab and adding them to the list. It worked all fine
yesterday but today they are crappin out on me. I
thought maybe if I re-add them to the printer
security list it would fix things but now I can't see the
primary domain. Only the computer domain shows
up. I remembered when I initially created the share it
took several restarts to finally see the primary
domain server. I do have administrative rights so
that is not it. The user on the XP has all the rights
checked on the DNS but is not on the
"Administrators" group. One thing that puzzles me
is, in the security tab on the xp pc, the icons for the
98SE pc shares are a white paper with a face and a
red question mark on it. I am guessing cause the XP
does not recognize the 98SE machines. Can anybody
give me a hand? I don't think it is the printer since I
can't even connect to the XP machine. The printer is
an HP LaserJet 6L. The XP does have network
connection cause we can connect to the internet and
see other machines on the network. Same thing for
the 98SE pc's. I have run out of ideas and about to
be borderline insane =P. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Is there a password on the printer in XP? XP doesn't like sharing things without passwords.

No there isn't but even if there was how come I can't
even connect to my primary DNS through security
sharing? Thanks for the reply.
