hi all,
i have started using compaq pc's in my house as media centers, in my study i have a desktop pc with a large hard drive and on it i store all my music, movies and pictures. in my bedroom and lounge i have 2 smaller machines with 80gb hard drives, the specs of the machines in the bedroom arent amazing but by keeping them clean and empty they run very quickly and are perfect for accessing the media on my main machine. this is all working fine. i have mapped the my pocuments folder on my study pc on the 2 other machines for speedy access and can watch movies accross the network but since i have done this i cant play the movies that are on the study pc from the study pc its self!! every time i try media player opens and the i get "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience"
i have tried reinstalling media player but the problem is still the same.
