Comment:

If you're running XP you are wasting our precious $25 Billion worth of Energy - proclaimed MS in this article.

The solution? Dump it for Vista (not me -over my dead body).

On related matter, this article stated that Vista would save 45 million tons of CO2 emissions with a few lines of computer code.

The solution? Outlaw continuing use of XP with 25 years imprisonment if caught after Vista inauguration in January 2007.

If they are so concerned about it, why not give all registered XP users a free copy of Vista? I mean, that solves their problem, our problem and keeps us all locked in to MS. It's a win win situation.

I turn mine off at the power strip when going away, but when I do I lose all my BIOS settings (It has a new battery) so there is definitely something going on there.

A positive attitude won't solve all your problems, but it will annoy just enough people to be worth the effort.

PC Bob :- I had the same problem on my old system, turned out to be qa failing PSU allowing the battery to leak when turned off at the power supply, if it was left plugged in and switched off at the wall it kept it setting, switch it off at the wall and it lost them.

HTH

Thanks, Woof. Sorry for the long delay. Sometimes things get crazy around here. Plus, we just had the worst ice storm in 28 years. Fun! This system has always done that, ever since I built it. I suppose it could be a bad PSU; I went for a cheap one. It isn't a drop-dead, end of the world problem, just aggravates the p out of me. I guess I'll just put up with it until I build my next system.

LOL

Thanks
