.sfk extension

Some of my MP3s have misteriously converted to an unknown format. there is now a .sfk extension on the end after the .mp3 extension.
Is this due a virus. Will I be able to convert these files back to .mp3 or are they lost forever.

SFK extension refers to a sound file used with Sonic Foundry...check out their website:

http://www.sonicfoundry.com

you must be using some of their audio software
