sfc/scannow - FILE MISSING

Specs: XP-xp2, 256

when typing sfc/scannow in run box, I am getting this message X -windows cannot find this file. Is the above typed correctly --sfc/scannow?

The correct syntax is sfc /scannow.

Notice the space between C and /

when I type sfc /scannow with the space, the screen opens for a quick second and closes immediately.

SFC is a command-line utility. You need to first open the Command Prompt then type in sfc /scannow.
