Well i just installed a new verison of java plus or something like that then when i re-start my computer it auto logs off. i had winxp home firewall up and a virus scanner so its less likely ita virus.
safemode seems to just load a list of drivers then stop .
any ideas???

Be careful with the updates that are not critical. I had installed the one for Hazmat because I thought I needed it only to have my cd/rw drive not work afterwards. Luckily, I had system restore on and that was how I saved it. If this happened after you installed the new version of Java then try to get into safe mode and uninstall it and see if it fixes the problem.

yeah i did install some new AMD drivers that were on the XP list the day befor but i thought that if they were gonna make the compyuter go wrong they'd do it on the next start up.

i tried safemode last night and it didnt work but apparently u can have to wait for up to 20 mins sometimes for safemode to kick in.
