Hi, I need your help.
I've formated my notebook, but it doesn't have cd-rom drive for setup OS.
So i tried:
1. setup xp with usb-reader2.0 + Transcend cf card(512mb/45*) - However, the notebook couldn't search this drive. FAILED.
2. network assited setup - it doesn't tried.
---------------
Is it possible to set up WinXP, which files are saved in NTFSed logical drive, to the FAT formated primary drive with DOS?

If you had a CD rom it could be done with Bart's PE disk but with no CD, then to the best of my knowledge...no can do.

The file system, whether ntfs or fat, doesn't matter here. XP is too large to install from floppy diskette which is why you have a XP cd.
You have two choices. Get a drive caddy so you can access your notebook drive in a pc which has a cdrom drive. copy the XP cds I386 folder to the drive, put it back in the notebook. Bootup on a boot floppy and go to the i386 folder. Typing "winnt" will start the install.
* you better have XP drivers for your notebook on floppy disk if you need them! PS 128meg ram is TOO low for XP.
Another method is to buy the software product Laplink and a parallel cable to link a pc with cdrom and this notebook. Xfer the i386 folder from the pc to the notebook and install as previously outlined.
Best of luck!

My apologies. You do need your notebook to use the fat/fat32 file system since you would need a special ntfsdos boot disk to do the same thing I have outlined.
