Ok my cousin ordered a Dell. They had it sent to my house so there kids want see it.They told me i could go ahead and install Antivirus and update it and get all Windows Updates.I did that just fine.Everthing went fine.Im asking this because once i did this before i had problems. They may want me set the sign in screen up.You know where when you turn it on it goses to a screen where each Family member has a icon.Last time i set that up on this Computer in XP Pro i was signed in as admin and did all updates.I signed in as someone else the updates and my games were not there. How do i keep this from happening?I really don't want to have to go thru the updates again.Im glad i already got it done. Her kids would not have wanted to wait for the updates you know how kids are.Im asking this before i tell them about this feature.

Thanks

I have a theory that setting up their accounts after you have updated everything would work. That means, when you update everything, you only have an admin account. And only after the updates, you start creating their individual accounts.

As I said, this is a theory. Why don't we wait for someone with experience in setting up accounts and stuff before you do anything else?

What updates are you refering to? If you mean Windows updates, then those are installed for all users.

As for the games not showing up for different users, many applications are not multi-usr aware. When they are installed, they are only installed for the account used to install them. You can just copy the shortcut icons from the start menu account of the admin user to the start meny for all users or to the start menu for each account you wan them to appear in. However, some applications require admin access to run. There are ways around this but it involves setting up permissions on different folders and can get quite involved.

Well that is one thing i hate about XP.I like the idea of haveing accounts. But it should ask on everything you install to allow everyone or just the admin. And i meant i got all updates to Norton Antivirus and Firewall and all Windows Updates.I also activated XP Firewall.
