|I have a Dell Dimension 8400 PC and ran into a problem:|
After a year of heavy internet use, my computer is
loaded with garbage that I cannot clean, so I want to
reinstall the drivers and start with a fresh, new
I put the Dell supplied Windows XP Reinstallation CD
into one of the CD drives and went through a few
steps. I then came to a roadblock and got a blue
screen that had all of the following print:
Windows XP Professional Setup
Setup cannot find a CD-ROM drive
Make sure your CD-ROM drive is on and properly
connected to your computer. If it is a SCSI CD-ROM
drive, make sure SCSI devices are properly terminated.
See your computer or SCSI adapter documentation for
Setup cannot continue. To quit setup, press F3.
Both of my internal CD-ROM drives function perfectly, so I am puzzled. What must I do to overcome this obstacle and reinstall Windows XP?
Thank you very much.
