You can connect two PC via USB or a Network Interface Card.
There are USB and CAT5 hubs so later you can add more computer to your network of 2.

There are also complete kits available
Hub + 2 Network cards with a complete discription how to install a network.

Major concept

Install Network card (place in computer)
Install Driver (software)
Install Network protocol (Netbeui or TCP/IP)

Connect cables to hub (or cross-cable between computers)

Share files
Share printers

Off you go

if you need step by step instructions you're probably best to pay someone to do it to save yourself the headache.
