Well i've posted this a few times now i'll give more indepth info maybe you guys could help me better, i have 2 networked xp pro machines through a LInksys BEFSR41 4 port cable/dsl router, i can connect to internet fine on both machines, on one machine the ip is 192.168.1.1, on the other is 192.168.1.101 , whenever i set up the dmz host for the 192.168.1.1 i can play multiplayer games and internet stuff (gamespy, kazaa, direct connect) fine , but when i set the DMZ host for the 192.168.1.101, the machine with that ip cant do any of those things but yet teh one with the other ip can i dont get it (confusing i know) and yes i did turn off xp's built in firewall on both machines if you're wondering please help thank you

By default a Linksys routers IP is 192.168.1.1. Being this is the IP of the router itself, it would not hand that IP address out to one of your machines, as it would cause a conflict. I think you meant to say the machines IP addresses were
192.168.1.100 and 192.168.1.101.If one of the machines is actually pulling 192.168.1.1 that may be part of the problem.

I agree with Khoas. Do this on the box that is not working correctly:
Start > Run > cmd
ipconfig /allNote all the information returned and post it here(cut/paste). I am not familiar with Linksys products. What does this DMZ host config do for you? You say both machines connect fine to the internet right? Can both machines browse your local network ok? Can you ping your router and the other pc from each computer?
Here is a faq as posted on LinkSys Support Page
Q. What is DMZ?
A: Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) allows one IP Address (computer) to be exposed to the Internet. Some applications require multiple TCP/IP ports to be open. DMZ allows just one computer to be exposed for that purpose. It is recommended that you set your computer with a static IP if you want to use DMZ.Looks like it is working as it is supposed by allowing only one ip/pc to be used. Here is another faq.
Q. How can I play internet games (i.e. Ages of empire) with the router?
A: Enable DMZ in “Advanced Features” of the web configuration screen. For example, if your computer’s IP address is 192.168.1.102, enter the last three digits, or “102”, in the DMZ field. You may also try using the port forwarding option instead of using DMZ.I would try the port forwarding feature. Maybe it will solve your problems. How to do you configure it??? You have to figure that out! Check out linksys.com for some helpful info though.
