i have a problem creating a dial-up connection, i never used dial-up on this computer.
The problem is that when i go to Network Connections all i see is "LAN or High-Speed Internet", and no "Dial-Up"
So i tried creating a dial-up connection, so i clicked "Creat a new connection" and the New Connection Wizard showed up,then i clicked "Next" and selected "Connect to the internet", then i selected "Set up my connection manually".
and this brings me to the main problem which is when i selected "Set up my connection manually" the only option showed next is: "Connect using a broadband connection that is always on".how can i fix this? how can i choose "connect using a dial-up modem" instead of "connect using a broadband connection that is always on" ?
please help..

hi desert flower,
if the only option you are given is for broadband, it sounds as though you dont have your modem enabled. try going to the control panel, click on internet connections, and then on the left, you should see a link for phone and modem options. click on that and open the modem tab and make sure that your modem is listed. if not you can add it there.

actually , I would suggest a little registry edit to resolve. Start/Run/ type regedit
and OK the registry editor comes open. navigate to (use plus signs at left of folder to open)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RasMan\PPP\EAP
then right click and export this key to the desktop (backing up in registry is important---no recycle bin). then open EAP and delete the 25 and 26 keys (therte should only be the 4 and 13 keys left. Close all folders by clicking the - to the left of open folders. Exit the registry editor and reboot.
All of the Network Connection setup for manual connection should now be available (also any previuosly setup connections will likely reappear.
Good Luck

Thank you sooooooooo much. i deleted those keys (25 and 26) and now i'm finally able to creat a dial-up connection.
Thanks.
:D
