set IE to default not AOL

Hi, how do u set internet explorer as default internet application :S
say i have an internet document on the desktop and i double click it, it shows it on aol and i want it to launch IE but i cant get it to do that :(

Quickest way is Tools --> Intenet Options --> Programs --> Reset Web Settings Be aware though that this will revert all programs to default.

Since you have sp2 you should be able to go to start > set program access and defaults.

In AOL if you go to settings, preferences and associations that makes AOL your default and it's permanent so if you clicked that at one time I bet that is why AOL keeps coming up. It does state when you click it that it will be permanent and you have the option to back out knowing that. If the IE setting doesn't work then they only way to not have AOL for your default in applications is to uninstall and reinstall AOL and don't ever click that setting and then everything should revert back to using IE.
