Hi, I've noticed that at startup, it takes a while for my firewall to load. Although it isn't a significant amount of time, it does take longer than I think it should after the login screen. Is there any way to set Sygate to have load priority? I have disabled all non-essential programs from loading at startup except Norton Antivirus.

My specs:

Windows XP Pro SP1
CPU/RAM: 1.1 / 512
Firewall: Sygate Firewall 5.5 build 2516
Antivirus: Norton Antivirus 2003

Well, you have Norton also running which is a ressources hog..and that is probably the reason why it is taking so much time to boot.. try something, disable Norton and see the difference. I recommend AVG anti-virus,there is a freeware version that runs perfectly, that is what I'm using.

Let me know

Why not give yer firewall a higher priority call up task manager, right click on the firewall, on "set priority" put it up to "above normal" DO NOT set to "real time" and give it a try !.
