...in Firefox 3. I browsed the help pages but this functionality is not mentioned anymore.

You can't set preferences like this "network.cookie.lifetime.days" in Windows XP, can you? How do I set cookies lifetime (in days) in WinXP?

I'm new to Firefox 3. I've used IE all my life and want to learn how to use a new browser.

I would not have a clue what your on about.

Use the easy method with Firefox 3.0 get the Cookie Culler addon.

All you have to do is protect the login cookies that contain your password and username for forums, bank sites, ect. Then delete the rest every day...

I'm not at home, so I can't check FF3's settings, but you should be able to change any of its settings by going to about:config.

about:config, that worked! The thing is I'm completely new to FF. I did see about:config on the help pages but I thought it was a command you could only use in Linux. But now I see you're supposed to type it in in the address bar! :)
