That seems ok here.
The only problem I have had is with Norton 2003. The two dont seem to like each other. Never mind that though. AVG works well.

Well I am thinking of downing it, and, in the long run I may have no choice.
However, after reading a british computer magazine a couple of things concern me.
On a screen shot of sp2 3 things are displayed; Firewall, Auto Update and Anti Virus, all are "On".
My question is, will they conflict with a firewall and av that a person allready has?
The article goes on to say that sp2 will nag you until you give in and accept these things, thereby perhaps unleashing a whole can of wriggly things.
Just a question

SP2 isnt just a security update it fixes a lot of bugs, you are right we have no option.

I cant answer the firewall question, I didnt run one before as my network router has a good one.

It does bug you, it did me about the Norton thing, I did give in but I reckon the pro's outweigh the cons. Up to you though Wolfey.

You need to configure or disable the windows firewall.

Look in your control panel. There are new icons there concerning the firewall operation.

I don't even wanna bother with Microsofts version of a Firewall I'm very happy with what I have. What makes me laugh is, for example, you don't get Norton saying to it's customers oops here's some sticking plaster to cover a **** up we made in our latest version. By the way please don't ring us if your machine is more infested than a Florida swamp (Noting against Florida)

I don't have norton had it years agao and it left a sour taste in my mouth. I do use AVG. As for the firewall I disabled it. I am kind of picky about the number of running processes. lol The one with my router will do just fine. My only trouble seems to be the loss of the use of the short cut in my startup menue for windows update.

Go here to Windows update...

http://v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/v5consumer/default.aspx?ln=en-us

Then drag the icon from the address bar to Start / and drop it where it used to be on the Start menu.
