quick question
does sp 2 have all the goodies that 1 does. like, if i install 2 on a fresh system do i still have all the benefits of 1?

To the best of my knowledge SP2 is still in Beta format. I would wait for the finished product to be released. There is a lot of info available and will be more when SP2 is released.

Not sure
I can test it for you?
I've tried the beta version
If you know what goodies sp1 has,so that I know what to look out for when comparing them.

SP2 is at present in the RC1 stage. It due for release later in the year.
SP2 includes everything that was included in SP1.

yes ya will have all ya old benifits but new pack will have built in "pop up blocker" in internet exploer....an LOTS of new security feature...here is a link to read about it..its due out in June... http://www.microsoft.com/WindowsXP/expertzone/columns/bowman/sp2.asp

I've installed sp2 and so far I like it!
I did a scan at grc.com Shields up! and I believe because of the beefed up firewall in the SP , It came up all green! I'm also running Zonealarm pro But before there were still a few open ports that would show up red . The pop up blocker is great and It does give you the option to show the pop up that was blocked with a thin bar at the toolbar showing a pop up was blocked
It is a 273mb dl and even after dl'ding it afterwards there were 3 other updates that I dl'd at windows update .
Running XP on a 2.4ghz p4 with 768mb pc2100 ddr ram on a MSI 845e mb and a 40 gig Ultra ata 100 maxtor hd
Haven't explored all the options or features of the sp but I have to say so far It seems to be pretty stable , I am having a problem with (and it so far seems to be only forums) the source code for a web page appears when I click the back button in IE6 I refresh the page and then it appears Haven't been able to figure out why this is yet and or What it may be but it does happen
