does anyone know what service and controller app does? i run zonealarm and it has to gain access to the internet or i cant get online. im just wondering if it has something to do with dhcp or something like that
if anyone can help, thanks

Service App is windows system connection.
It is used to broadcast to find DHCP servers, etc.

Yes, you do need it and as long as you install the security updates should be safe to use too
