Comment:

I had a serious error where the comp
stated this:
(/WindowsSystem/Config/System)
After this, I reinstalled XP professional
onto the Computer and it was working
fine(although denuded of most of its
applications). I then decided to reset the
computer to the way it was when it was
purchased. I achieved this successfully
but I now have a very serious issue. The
Computer will not boot up unless it has
the XP Professional CD within its drive,
which is odd since the OS now being
used is XP Home. I tried installing XP
Professional, and it still won't load without
the CD inside the drive. I'm completely
lost, and truly annoyed, does anyone
know why this is happening?

The XP CD is bootable, whether it's Pro or Home, so no suprise there.
It sounds like you have an OEM PC ( one that has the OS preinstalled at the factory like and HP or dell and you should have a recovery CD.
That is the key to your problem.
You may have wiped out some important window files and now the PC need those to boot, whic it has when the CD is in place.
To solve this, I'd concentrate on INSTALLING windows CLEAN from the RECOVERY CD.

Go to START/RUN and type in sfc /scannow.

There is a space between the c and the /. You will need to have you XP cd handy. This restores all original files. It does take some time to run.
