Okay so I have a pretty big problem. I had downloaded some movies and went to burn them as a video cd using NERO burning rom. This all went well, except NERO had to re-encode one of the video files.

It was taking a while so I left, and when I got back, it had used EVERY bit of free space left on my hard drive (some 27GB).

My Hard drive is 40GB. It said it was full, so I deleted a few programs which gave me 2GB free space (currently). I re-started, and my hard-drive is still the same. Almost full.

How can I fix this and get back all those GB I used to have? Surely it's just a file somewhere I have to delete? I don't want to format my hard-rive under any circumstances.

PLEASE HELP!
Thank-you,
Michael.

Check Nero's folder and sub-folders for any large file, also empty out these two folders:

C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Temp

C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

NB. You must have "Show hidden files and folders" enabled to see the "Local Settings" folder.

Hi Michael, g'day Hooner

You can also do a Search for files and folders, and search by "Size"
Maybe look for any files greater than 1 gig.

Thank you two very much for taking the time to reply, it's very much apreciated. My PC ended up changing by itself... it must of just needed a little time to update?

But once again, thanks very much.
