I have multiple users setup on my XP Pro machine. However, not all of them need the same startup. I have already organized all the "All Users" and individual users startup directories. However, I need to know how to designate individual SYSTEM startup (i.e. msconfig > Startup) per user.
I assume that this cannot be done. What else can I do? Can I move each system startup command out of mcsonfig and put it in a batch file, then I could include the batchfiles in the necessary Startup folders? That seems like a pretty ugly solution.
Thanks!

GedMan:Yes, batch files are a pretty (f)ugly solution. 8-)
An easier method than using msconfig, would be a small (57KB) utility called Startup Control Panel. After installation, the icon for SCP is placed (logically enough) in the XP Control Panel.
In theory, each user could have their own SCP, customized to whatever needs. That's where I'm a bit unclear, since I'm not sure how much control you want to give each user, or any control at all.
At any rate, the link below will tell you more about the utility. I've found it to be vastly quicker than msconfig. Also, it's an application, needing no installation. If you don't care for it, simply delete its file. No registry keys to worry about.

There is a tweaker program called X-SETUP PRO. It used to be freeware but it is so good that it has gone shareware... but anyway, it has a section that allows you to easily shift programs to and from system to user(s) and visa versa.
