Hi
My system is up to date with all mandatory XP fixes including latest for IE.
I have several related problems that have appeared since the latest burst of updates.
I do not use the "send to" function often enough to say exactly when the problems surfaced but several things have found their way into my system and I am at a loss (for once).1. Right-mouse on a file in explorer or on the desktop or anywhere to use the "send to..." and "e-mail recipient) (also from within the MSWORD envelope for "send to an e-mail address"). After clicking on this option nothing happens - no opton, no browser, nix.
2. When running some SW that "cleans up" the IE environment I get an error message that tells me the IE environment can not be accessed because settings are "non-standard".
3. Sometimes when sending an e-mail external from Netscape I get a message telling me to verify/check the settings of my "TEMP" directory.
All these things seem related.
I have verified all "internet options" within IE and all defaults are taken. The Baseline Security Analyzer finds everything to be in order.
Any suggestion appreciated. I know of one other user of XP PRO with exactly the same symptom so it is not location specific but rather appears to be something "new".
Many thanks in advance

Hi
Thanks for the "kickstart". I had a suspicion that something had happened to a basic setting.
The links were a little helpful in that they pointed me to a Windows setting. I do not have the "backup" appearing in the SW list. In the FILE list there is "Archive" but I think that is not the same. I have XP Office installed.
Anway, I went into "accounts" in Outlook and discovered I did not change my POP3 address to my new mail provider. I did that and then using the error code on a manual "SEND" inside Outlook I found help on a German forum - I had to enable user/PW verification on my mail server for both incoming and outgoing.
Voila - it worked!.
I also "reinstalled" Outlook Express.
Now I can send from all places again. Many thanks!!
