How do I send emails in outlook xp without opening outlook? because when I click on an email link in a webpage, a outlook window opens, I write the email and click "send". but the email is not sent! it's only sent when I open outlook and click the "send/get all" button. takes time and is uncomfortable.

tools-> options-> mail setup(tab) -> send/receive(button) ->'when outlook is offline'
schedule send receive every x minutes(check).
Not the best solution. I don't know what Outlook considers offline. I don't know...see what happens.

php,
disable outlook altogether and use webmail like hotmail or yahoo. much better easier and virus protected.

@del7:
I am using my own server to send emails. but how do I write them? in outlook of course. when I click on a weblink in a IE page, outlook opens and I write. then outlook sends the email to my localhost server and the server sends the email to the recipient. the prob is that outlook doesn't send the email immediately.
@darkfriend:
I guess any settings I make in outlook kick in only when outlook runs. the problem is that when I click on a mail link in a webpage, an outlook window opens, which is not actually outlook itself, but just a wordXP window with some outlook activex controls. because otherwise outlook would send my email immediately. seems the only solution is to have outlook running in the background all the time. but who needs this memory eater in the background all the time? but in the current state the situation is ridiculous - first you write an email and click send, then one has to start outlook just to click the "send receive button"! ridiculous! I wonder what MS was thinking when they did this s---
