"They must not know about my investigation". I would be very careful with this issue. IF the employees have been previously notified of possible monitoring of thier computer usage and the written company policy forbids certain uses then you MAY be safe.

I don't know why the importance of 'catching' someone.

In our University labs, I just deleted all the games from the drives. Simple stuff.

Sounds like a management problem. Maybe if your the manager, you're the problem. What elde are they doing which they are not allowed to?

Corporate Recording Statistics

• More than three-quarters (77.7%) of major U.S. companies keep tabs on employees by checking their e-mail, Internet, phone calls, computer files or by videotaping them at work.

• 63% of companies monitor workers' Internet connections and 47% store and review employee e-mail.

• It is estimated that employees spend twice as much time surfing the Internet at work as they do at home.

• People are spending more time surfing the Internet at work than they are at home, mainly because home Web connection speeds pale in comparison to the faster connections that companies give their employees.

• The most popular sites surfed at work closely mirror the most popular sites surfed at home and include: pornographic web sites, financial web sites, shopping sites, and chat sites.

Good luck to you!

May I suggest your employees join a Union before you install cameras and start spying on them in the bathroom. Micro-management and big brother at its worst.

I worked thirty years for a MAJOR corporation. Our employees spent their time working not surfing or chatting.

Try blocking instead of getting dirty.

It seems to me your company needs a new manager who can promote a work ethic instead of one who spys on all the dirty rotten scoundrels who only hired on to get free internet access.

I don't think this forum was designed to promote spyware. Possibly the exact opposite.
