hi
when i right click on a folder on a newly installed edition of XP professional and choose properties i do not get a security tab. where do you set the security permissions. the drive is ntfs and file and folder sharing and client for MS networks are all set up
It is because Simple File Sharing is enabled. Go to My Computer or Windows Explore and go to Tools/View/Folder Options then click on the View Tab. Scroll all the way down and remove the dot in the radio button that says Use simple file sharing and you will then get the security tab.
