Search function in Startup corrupt

CPU/Ram: AMD 1009 Mhz...1G ram

Somehow my Search function had defaulted to a "pop-out" of QuickFinder when I accessed it from the Start button. Not liking that, I stupidly tried to fix it. Search is now corrupt from Start...it pops-out a little blank gray bar that used to say QuickFinder. Now it does nothing but close the Start screen.

use spybot and adaware to delete any spyware/trojans that may be on your system

I quit using the Windows Search feature, and installed a free program called Agent Ransack which is great. Find it on Google.
