Recently, probably due to a virus attack, I am unable to use windows XP's search function. The virus which infected my computer (which I think was the culprit) hid itself in the system restore folder, so to get to it I had to disable and re-enable system restore, which of course cleaned out all my system restore points.
Now my problem is that I need (well, don't NEED but it would be very nice) to get my search function back, without using a system restore (since I now only have one restore point of course, todays...).
P.S, yes I have posted a lot of problems on these forums lately, and YES, I have 2 computers, one with 98 and one with XP, and they both decided to misbehave at the same time.

Hi
Try this it worked for me, go to link, download No 70, install it, you should have search function back

O.k, I should have been more specific. The search function appears on the menu, but when I click it, the system just freezes for a while, then goes back to normal (and the start button stays depressed while its frozen).
Any ideas?
