My XP¡¦s search function was corrupted and as a result I was unable to search the file. When I press WinKeys + F or Search then the warning message is popup. The error msg is about ¡§A file that is required to Search Companion Cannot be found. You May need to run setup¡¦. So does anyone have the idea to fix it¡K?

Reinstall srchasst.inf from your XP CD. It is in I386 or 384, something like that, anyway. Right click on the file and reinstall. It will work, but don't quote me on the CD folder names. Have a good day.
