hi y'awl.. have just reinstalled xp pro on my c2duo lappy and cant find the search option - y know the one; i.e.; start menu/search etc?
any ideas- pikey

billpike, Right click your Start button, choose Properties, under the Start Menu tab click the Customize button, under the Advanced tab>Start Menu Items: checkmark "Search", click OK/Apply/OK.

hey there thanks ofr this however there is no 'search' there to checkmark... any other ideas? am thinking to do a repair of windows..

This page has alot of XP fixes

Some require the download of a VBS, or Regedits file.
So, read at the top of that page--
"To use the Regedits" or "To use the VBS files"

Then go to line 70 or 166, then click item in left hand column.
