Can anyone give some advice on how to reinstall the search assistant. When I click on start/seach....the eyeglass in the browser, or use the keyboard command windows flag key + f the search box is completely greyed out.

I dont get any error messages...you know how the explorer window changes to a split srceen and the animated character comes up...that whole left side is simply greyed out

i just tried the link..got the patch and during installation i got an error saying this fix can only be applied to an OS with no service packs...this xp home edition by default puts sp1 in.
