Hi all
Theres an annoying niggle with my Acer pc. It has a SD card slot on the front which works fine the first time that I use it.
But if I eject the card (by right clicking at the icon near the clock). Take the card out and then reinsert it back in , nothing happens. The only way for the pc to 'see' the card again is to restart the pc.
This doesnt seem to happen if I eject something from a usb port and then reinsert it, (the pc sees the devices as normal).
It just with the SD slot.
I do quite a bit of photography at home and I may take a photograph, view it my pc, then I may want to take some more - but I would have to restart the pc to view them.
Hope someone can help
Thanks for reading
Richard.

The Safely Remove hardware icon shouldn't be used to remove SD cards from a memory card reader like the one you have. For media like SD cards only I always open Windows Explorer and right-click on the SD drive and select EJECT. I never had to reboot the computer afterward.

I had a problem with my card reader & found this.
Start
* Contol Panel
* Performance and Maintenance
* Administrative Tools
* Services
* Smart Card( check if its active and started manually)
* If not click twice and start it ,then click ok.
* Reboot your computer (I shut it down holding the main button in for a few sec)Perhaps it will help?
