My SD Card works in my windows xp desktop computer but when I stick it in my windows xp tablet, I get "Drive D cannot be formatted do you want to format?" I click yes and it begins the process of reformating the drive but then says that an error occured while formating the disk. Any suggestions on how I can fix this?

SD cards are designed to be formatted from within the camera and never from Windows. Otherwise your camera will no longer recognize the SD card.

I know that my SD Card can be formatted in my camera. But my camera is broken currently and I'm using it as a temporary thumbdrive. My other USB Device is broken and I need to transfer important files to the other computer, because this computer is a work computer.

Any ideas on how I can transfer the files to the other computer? This computer did not come with a cd drive so I can't burn cd's on it. Any other suggestions?

Sure...go buy a new thumb drive and quit screwing around trying to force things to do what they were not designed to do or be used for.
