SD Card Error

Specs: Windows XP
When I put the card in the card reader, the message comes up....An error acured while reading the contents of this folder. The folder may be inaccessable or corrupt. Same message come up on all 3 of my SD cards. I have some compact flash cards. And same message come up on about 8 of those. Will not read any of the pictures. So, can't tell what pictures are on them. Any answers as to why I'm getting the same message on so many cards? Thanks for your answer.

Being that it is happening on so many cards...I would guess that your card reader crashed out on you.
Most card readers are installed using a USB connection. You might look at uninstalling the reader and then reinstalling it to see if the USB driver just got corrupted.

Start > r. clk. My Computer > Properties > Hardware tab > Device Manager button > look for the USB hardware and dbl. click on the card reader and then choose driver tab and choose to uninstall the driver.
shut down the system and re boot and allow windows to reinstall the hardware.
