Erm, Hi, I'm a student using XP home Ed. I have an essay in on Mon Morning so replies ASAP would be good! scvhost.exe has an error and has to shut down every 5 secs or so. Am currently running Welch and Blaster worm removers, but to no avail. PLease help as I cna't accsess the internet at all from my laptop. Thanks

Nat, read my post under "Trojan Virus Help!" a couple of posts under this one. Follow that advice, when you reboot go into Safe Mode, the vurus can't load there and it gives you time to kill it. Try to note the name of the virus before you do so you will recognize it in the register, and maybe find it on your C drive.

Hi Thanks for youtr response, The problem is that I don't actually think that it is a virus as such, I don't know which file to delete etc. I'm not majorly advanced in the ways of computer delving. Whatr does a corrupt file look like? Natshirt

Sorry, forgot to add. I have scanend total computer and selected scvhost.exe files with NOrton Antivirus. Plus ran the two worm programmes... nothing Natshirt
