Scroll wheel moving web page back

I have an annoying problem I would like help with, I have a new optical mouse by HP and when i am scrolling on webpages it keeps moving the webpages back and is becoming very annoying.
I have looked in the browser options and teh mouse options and cannot see how to turn this off.
Please help

Did software come with the mouse? I have seen mice with a wheel that can also flex side to side. That action results in forward/ backward movement. If you installed software then open it and see if there are some custom settings.

There may be software available for download. Meantime check the mouse listing in Control Panel ti see if there are any settings there.

I have checked all of that, I have done nothing different to any other optical mouse and they have not done this before?
