Hello...I have badly screwed up my installation of Windows XP Pro. I have been trying to get Windows ME to boot. I have XP installed on the first hard drive and ME on the second. I tried to restore the boot sector on the ME drive with a fdisk /mbr from a ME boot disk (stupid, stupid, stupid...forgot that it would restore the boot sector on the first disk), now XP won't boot up. Tried the recovery console, neither fixmbr, nor fixboot worked. Any suggestions?

It looks as if you have used fdisk on the drive containing XP which has of course deleted all your files.
The drive with ME might be ok though but you need a boot manager to access it, eg Partition Magic which includes Boot magic
Alternatively, for now, disconnect the XP drive, set drive with ME to master and you should be able to access it normally
There are many other boot menu software packages on the net, some of which are free.
Good luck

Negative, Fdisk with the "/mbr" switch does not delete all your files. Your data is still there, just boot to the XP CD and run through setup again. This time it will ask you at some point if you want to repair an existing XP installation. Say yes.

Once it is finished you should be back up and running. The only thing this will not fix is the dual boot to ME. You can fix that manually after the repair by editing your boot.ini file and adding the entry for your ME drive.

Also, after the repair you will need to reinstall the latest drivers for your devices, but your apps should still be there (well, you may need to reinstall them as well).

Good luck, hope this helps.
