OK I know you probably think gosh she's dumb but here goes i have windows xp and downloaded a screen saver that is a art painting that i love but there is no movement. Isn't a screen saver supposed to move ? thanks

Did you try looking at the settings of the screen saver? Maybe yours doesn't move

screen savers serve no purpose any more. They used to protect screens from "burnig". Now-a-days most screens have what I think is called image dithering. The picture looks like it is still but is really shaking back and forth very quickly to prevent damage. I forget where I read that, maybe an A+ certification book.

Don't know where you got that info either Geo but it's incorrect. Shaking it back and forth is not going to prevent screen burn.
