Specs: Windows XP
at first there was a problem of restarting, after sometime its working fine. then after when the pc has turned the screen is showing with cracking lines with green and yellow and combination other colors, can you plese help me how to get rid of it. my monitor is working properly with other c.p.u, its not the problem of monitor and my ram working with the other pc....

sounds like a bad/failing video card. reseat it by removing it and putting back into the slot correctly. if same results check the video driver in xp. After that, consider replacing the video card.

the hard disk has been formatted it before and i was trying to installing OS in it, how can i check video card if the problem is showing the cracking screen

Make sure your PC is turned off at the power point,

Make sure you are not carrying a static charge by earthing yourself with an antistatic wrist band,

Remove the video card from its slot on the motherboard,

Make sure the contacts are clean by rubbing them with a pencil eraser,

Blow any dust out of the mounting slot and re-seat the card.

If it's a laptop, it might be an overheating problem.

Is it the same in Safe Mode? If so it is probably the card, if not it is most likely to be a software issue.

The above does not override the possibility of overheating, already mentioned.
