I just got my laptop working again late last night. Thx for all your suggestions. Had to reformat and reinstall xp. Now Turbo Tax 2008 works fine. New problem - my picture on the screen is about the size of a postcard but the screen size is 15 inches. How do I make the picture the same size as the screen, remembering that on a laptop I have no buttons to adjust the monitor.

You probably need to install video drivers.
Try right clicking on a blank part of the screen and choose Properties> Settings. Is there a slicer to change the resolution? What do you see in that box?

Ended up adjusting the resolution in the settings. Thanks for the suggestion. There was no slicer and I could not click on the actual black space but in the Display properties in the Control Panel I could adjust it. Thanks again.
