black on both sides this happened when I Formatted and re ran windows XP pro. are they any body that knows what I need to do to correct this
The display resolution probably needs changing in the Display Settings > Advanced Settings which is in Control Panel. I haven't used XP for several years so I cannot say how to do it exactly, but that's what you need to adjust. This page explains how to do it in XP:
