i just brought a new pc . I have intsalled vista on it with a 24" inch viewsonic lcd. the only problem i get is that the screen is not covering the whole lcd and windows is showing only 3gb of ram and i have 6 gb of ram.

about the screen:

set the resolution to maximum

about the ram:

make sure that your ram is supported by your system as well as that the slots support that size of ram

go to device manager and check for any yellow markers related to the graphics card and to the ram

our patience is big

You have to adjust the monitor after you have set the resolution to the level you like. You adjust the monitor using the monitors menu buttons.

Vista 32 bit only supports 4gig max and the reality is its 3gig plus but never 4gig.

google 32 bit vista memory limitation for more info.
