hi all can anyone help me i have the following problem...MY SCREEN IS INTACT BUT I AM UNABLE TO VIEW ANYTHING ON IT. WHEN IT POWERS ON THE SCREEN FLICKERS AND WINDOWS COMES UP IN A DARK RED COLOUR. THIS IS ONLY FOR A SECOND THEN THERE IS NOTHING. IF YOU LOOK HARD ENOUGH YOU JUST SEE THE OPERATING SYSTEM BUT VERY FAINT...any help appreciated...thks jan

Try plugging another monitor into the laptop to see if you can see anything. If so, monitor on laptop sounds like iit needs to be replaced.

If you can see your desktop on the lcd screen, but it is very dim, or you have to get a light to shine on it at just the right angle then only the backlight may need to be replaced. bob
