Specs: Windows XP, 1Ghz/256
On a Dell inspiron 2500 laptop with Win XP pro, screen goes doesn't display after XP logo during startup. Will however show desktop in most of the safe modes. I have tried 3 of the drivers from Dell and 2 from Intell with same results. can be ajusted to 1024x768 true color
and works fine, just wont load that way. Audio is fine you can hear that windows loads though nothing on the screen.

That usually means there's a bad third-party driver being loaded (they don't get loaded in safe mode, which is why Windows is able to load in safe mode).

Some driver must have been recently installed which is causing it. If that rings any bells, uninstall that driver in safe mode. Bear in mind that it may not be a device driver. Drivers are also installed by third-party Firewalls, Antivirus apps, and CD-burning software.

Finally, only Dell have the correct drivers for your Inspiron so do not install drivers from Intel or any other component manufacturer. Laptops require proprietary drivers which only the laptop maker can supply.
