I had been running defrag every night on a different drive so that they were all defragged at least once a week. However, I just now noticed that they are no longer being defragged. I did some testing and noticed that the scheduler now only opens up defrag.exe and does not defrag any of the drives. All of my other scheduled tasks run as expected (Spybot S&D and my alarm clock playlist).
This is the run line I'm using: C:\WINDOWS\system32\dfrg.msc F:\

1. Open Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, and then click Scheduled Tasks.
2. Double click Add Scheduled Task to open the Scheduled Task Wizard, and then click Next.
3. Click Browse, navigate to the %systemroot%\system32 folder, select defrag.exe, and click Open.
4. Use the wizard to set a schedule for when to run the defragmentation program, and be sure to supply a password for the account on which you want the task to run.
5. Check the box for Open advanced properties for this task when I click Finish.
6. On the Run line, add the drive letter for the drive to be defragged. For example, %SystemRoot%\System32\Defrag.exe %HomeDrive%

according to your OP you're using DFRG.MSC
DFRG.MSC cannot be scheduled. If you need to schedule disk defragmentation, use the DEFRAG.exe command line tool.

You do not need to defrag that often. Even once a month would be more than is needed.
Defrag will often take much less time to complete if you run it in Safe mode - there are many programs that can cause it to re-start many times in Normal mode.

schedule task need a password on ur account, it will only work when u create password on ur account.
