I have posted this 3 times and no one seems to understand my question. I want to keep my scheduled tasks running, they are now running fine, and I want it to stay that way. I am trying to figure out how to get the systray icon for Scheduled tasks back. I somehow turned it off (without stopping scheduled tasks). I cant remember how i did it.I think it was just a check box somewhere in XP. It isn't the "Hide inactive icons" option. Everything I found through google says the only way to get rid of the systray icon for Sched. tasks is to stop using it, but I know that is incorrect. HELP PLEASE, I want to have the icon back in the systray.
Thanks,
Brad

The following is just a guide for you.
Go there and see if "smtray.exe" is checked.the "Startup" tab in the "System Configuration Utility". To open this, click START, then RUN,
then type: msconfig , then click OK.
Find the the "Startup Item" that you want to
dispose of, and uncheck its box, and click OK.
USE CAUTION. Item names are not in plain language. For example: If you want to get rid of
the gray Desktop Icon that is always on top of all your programs, then uncheck "WksSb".NOW, every time you start your computer, a dialoge box will appear saying that you have made changes to your computer. SO, in it, check the box for "Do not tell me again" (or what ever it said).

Thanks, I am aware of msconfig and all that. I build computers and know MS 9X/XP very well. When I first got XP about 6 months ago I did a lot of tweeking (removed messenger, and a few reg. tweeks and other things I found on the net) to make it run faster/smoother. This was one of them, I just can't remember how I did it. Usually I keep notes on these kind of things. Thanks for the help but that wasn't the prob/fix.
Brad
